The Culmination of the Semester

Today we started the final project of the semester, which culminates with an exhibition. For me and my class it will be our last projects at our school before we go our separate photographic ways.

It’s a relatively free project but our teachers urge us to do something big; since we have 4 weeks to do it then why not.

So it looks like I’m going to Sweden to my aunts Cabin in the depths of the Swedish forest.

In case you aren’t familiar with Scandinavian Geography, Sweden is the first country to the east of Denmark.

It’s about a 4 hour drive from my home in Denmark. I plan to go there with my girlfriend and document our days in solitude in the middle of nowhere.

I’m looking very much forward to this project, I think I’ll do it in an art documentary style that I really like.

I’ll post updates and pictures as i go along! and of course other posts on other subjects.

Until next time.

The Exhibition of Friday

This is just a quick post to quickly share that the Exhibition this friday went very well and was a overall success.

The pictures were in the context of the exhibition, actually not bad. So that was a pleasant surprise.

So here a 2 pictures from the exhibition one of them is a picture of the poster including artist names of the exhibition, the other one is the 10 commandments (in Danish).

This picture doesn’t really do the exhibition justice but this has to do since I only took these 2 photos on my iPhone.

Until next time.

Work in Progress..

We are currently in the depths of Copenhagen – getting ready for the exhibition.

We’ve been working on setting everything up including getting very outdated projectors to work. The Exhibit opens in an hour, and I’m still not sure where exactly I stand with my project.

Will post some pictures from the exhibit later tonight.

School Project: The Ten Commandments

2 weeks ago, i was given a school assignment called the ten commandments.

The point with this assignment is to take ten pictures – one for each commandment. I meanwhile am not fond of this assignment, due tomorrow, and not nearly finished.

I decided to describe each commandment with the facade of a house, this however has shown itself to be pretty challenging. So here i am… Editing the few pictures i have – and afterwards going out to get the rest (hopefully).

So i made this post; not only to blog about photography and the given assignment, but also to help myself get down which of the commandments i have already covered. So here goes.

1. I am your only god √

2 You may not make an image of god √ (roughly got that one down)

3. you may not use the lords name for lies /

4. Remember the sabbath and keep it holy / (got a rough idea though)

5. Honor thy mother and father / (think i have it down, just gotta take the picture)

6. thou shalt not kill √ (got it down)

7. Don’t break holy matrimony / (nope…)

8. You may not steal / (nope…)

9. Don’t witness falsely to your next man. /

10. Don’t envy your next mans wife, house, slave, or slave woman. /

I know these aren’t the 10 commandments in the purest original form or fashion but they are the ones that i have to depict.

The notes to each one:

1. Single house in the middle of nowhere.

2. 2 classic houses with the same car. Or the picture of a house with a stickfigure in front.

3. 2 colored house.

4 Red and white house (I live in Denmark and this is a comment on patriotism and nationalism.

5 Brothel.

6. a petrol station.

7. Old damaged house or a house with a clear line down the middle.

8.

9. house for sale.

10. Burnt down house.

Sorry for this clumsy jotted down post. Will post the pictures when they are done.

If you’ve ever been in a similar stressed situation with photography – tell me about it in the comments.

Project: Inside

As a part of every semester at my School, the Copenhagen film and photography school, we end each semester with an exhibition. Last year i did a project entitled “Inside” revolving around emotions on the interior and exterior of the human body and psyche.

This slideshow requires JavaScript.

I plan to share all the projects i have created as school projects and self created projects; so keep your eyes peeled for posts with entitled “Project:” to see more of the projects I’ve done.

I want to see your projects aswell – so feel free to comment with a link to your projects. Or anything else you want to say.

Until next time,
